You know that excitement that only an expected package can bring?
Or maybe that's just me.
But I get giddy excited when I'm expecting a package to come in the mail. It can be anything. A book. A gift. Christmas presents. Vitamins. This time of year, though, I'm excited about packages of homeschool materials! And yesterday I received the motherlode of packages: my order from Rainbow Resource Center. I have never placed an order so large from one company before - such fun arrived yesterday!
Have you seen their catalog??? It is the largest thing I think I've ever seen in print. Even larger than our new 1828 Webster's Dictionary! If you homeschool, you really show pop on over and order one of their free catalogs. The employees review each and every product they carry. It really does help quite a bit when making an order and trying to decide what to include.
I have a 2012-2013 homeschool curriculum post in the works, with pictures, and I'm excited about the things we're using this year. Some things I ordered are specifically tailored to the season we're in right now. Like two subjects on the computer for the boys. They're excited - So. Am. I.
Morgan and Annie will be getting much more of my attention this year, and I'm really excited to dive into some dedicated time just for them. Well, probably with two toddlers and a newborn in tow as well, unless we take advantage of naptimes.
Now that brings me to another thought. I'm really trying to just focus on today, and not get overwhelmed by the tasks ahead. Namely beginning our school year, when I'm feeling overwhelmed in the summertime. God has promised us:
PEACE
Freedom from agitation or disturbance by the passions, as from fear, terror, anger, anxiety or the like; quietness of mind; tranquility; calmness; quiet of conscience. - Websters Dictionary 1828
and
GRACE for today.
Appropriately, the free unmerited love and favor of God, the spring and source of all the benefits men recieve from him. - Webster's Dictionary 1828
I need not fret, worry, hyper plan, or try to control my circumstances. God's got this! I am continually turning to him through my days. But sometimes I forget, and think that I'm in this all by myself even though I know it's simply not true. God is for us. He is for me.
Bring on the school year. God has given us this family. He told us point-blank that he wanted our three youngest children to join our family in three different ways, and we followed him. He's gotten us this far, why would I stop trusting him now?
