Have you ever found yourself tearing the house apart searching for something inconsequential, only to end up finding something of great value instead? Something you didn't know you were missing?
That's sort of how it is in life.
We run from thing to thing searching; when all the while, the best things are right under our noses.
The thief wants us to keep searching. He wants us up in a tizzy. And he wants to steal every bit of life we have.
He wants to kill our dreams and our joy. There is no life in him. And he wants to destroy our very being.
Jesus tells us in John 10:10, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy."
This weekend, may we say no to the thief. May we position ourselves to deny his input in our lives. Because of Jesus, our redeemer and protector, we have freedom from the slavery of sin and its destruction.
Jesus goes on to say, "I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."
This weekend, may we enjoy the abundant life. May we choose to love extravagantly, live freely, and trust willingly. Abundant is just one choice away.
This life is temporary, full of temporary trials that pale in comparison to the beauty that is to come. Because God's plan for an abundant life stretches out into eternity.
Have a beautiful weekend, friends.
John 10:10
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.
I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
