{Day 8} In Search of Spring - 2 Corinthians 5:7

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Lysa TerKeurst: writer, teacher, and speaker extraordinaire.

She said something that slapped me silly this last summer, as I sat in the audience eagerly scribbling pages of notes.

She asked, "Are you a woman of faith? Then maybe you need to live a life that requires a little faith."

Ouch? Yeah, a little.

Think about that. How much faith does it take to live in our sweet spot?

I mean, it takes faith to live each day, yes, but what about the kind of faith that really takes faith to live out?

I want that kind.

I want the kind of faith where self-preservation takes a backseat to God glorification.

We're so good at protecting our little bubbles. Even if we're miserable, we still protect. Convincing ourselves that something better will come. Eventually.

But I can tell you right now that change doesn't come to the bear in the den. He doesn't know Spring has arrived until he steps outside of cozy and stretches his legs.

What saves a man is to take a step. Then another step.  - C.S. Lewis

What kind of faith is God asking you to have today?

Go on, step outside the den and search for Spring.

2 Corinthians 5:7

For we live by faith, not by sight.

  1. Thank you for these thoughts today! God has been speaking into my life more and more about areas where I need to step out in faith.
