Five Minute Friday: VIEW

"Where a beautiful crowd spends five minutes all writing on the same topic and then sharing ‘em over here. It’s like free writing therapy for the tongue-tied, tired, or blocked blogger. And boy are these folks the best." - Lisa-Jo

This time, we're writing for 5 minutes on the topic of "View."

We've all heard it.

"Enjoy these days with your kids, because they go by so quickly."

We smile and nod, because we're nice like that, all while thinking to ourselves, "I'm trying.  But these days seem to go so slow."

And as the years go by, we know the older woman in the express lane was right.  She was once in my shoes, but the view has now changed.  She's no longer down on the field, she's in the sky box, up in the nosebleed section peering down on what was her life from a different perspective.

So, older women in the store?   Next time one of you tells me to enjoy this - to soak it all in... I'm going to sincerely smile, and tell you I'm sitting back, enjoying the view from here.

  1. Thanks for sharing your view.

  2. What a sweet post...I'm right there in the thick of raising kids alongside you. Although I see SEVEN sweet faces on your side bar that are young and a strong daddy to go with the family! The view now is precious...each day seems slow, but the years are blending in quickly. Blessings to you as you are running the race! Stay strong and press on...

  3. I don't have children. Instead, I watch the children of other people growing up around me. It's wonderful to watch and there have never been greater teachers in my life than those children who show me how quickly time passes.

  4. Love this!! What a view :)

  5. Oh yeah, this is awesome. What a great take on this word and what a totally unique perspective. Thank you for the reminder. Someday we'll all be in the nosebleed section - enjoy the view from the field while we've got it, right? Thanks for sharing!

I guess I get both points of view at once. I have two grown children and two still growing. And I very often tell myself to enjoy every moment, because I know all too well how fleeting the day truly are. :)

  7. Love this! You are so right. Somedays it's hard to remember that they are only in my care for a short time, when all I want to do is have a minute to myself! :) thanks for your words!

Thank you for commenting, I love hearing from you!
