1. What are your ...Okay, here are my answers:

1. What are your reasons for wanting to put facebook in a time-out?
Too much time wasted on the computer, wanting more purposeful time with the kids/babies, needing a break to re-prioritize my daily life and seeking God's will for me

2. What are the things you're avoiding, neglecting, or leaving out because of your time on facebook?
There are several things being neglected at times: housework, homeschooling to it's fullest potential, playtime on the floor with the little ones.

3. What things do you want to be more intentional about this week and beyond?
Solid, fruitful time homeschooling, time spent playing, a more focused mind resting in God's presence, pre-planning meals, sticking to my housework planBacon Writerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01353653147268641850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-195491871000058567.post-74893431158524344842012-03-05T15:55:41.033-05:002012-03-05T15:55:41.033-05:00I'm taking a break from Facebook, in part for ...I'm taking a break from Facebook, in part for all of the above mentioned reasons; house duties, more time in the word, family time, etc. But a large part of it is that we are taking a "break" from our church, and a large part of the posts on my FB are from my fellow churchgoers, and it's ALL about how great our church is and SO FOCUSED on the church. Not God. It's a hard line to walk, for me, to not judge them, so I needed to distance myself, and with still having everything in my face on FB, it wasn't happening.

I am really hoping that God will do some work in my heart, and bring some healing through this. Thanks for bringing this opportunity and accountability, Amanda. This will be enve more important, if she decides to go back to the vilage, or even move out of state, as she has mentioned before.

However, we solved the family contact issue a year or two ago. We opened a private blog that all the family contributes too. It has been so wonderful to see one or 2 updates per family each week, often with a picture as well.

Meanwhile, I strongly restrict what and who we have contact with on FB. The subscribe button has been greatly used lately, not only for times sake, but for purities sake.

Paula and Steve RunyanAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15496614522922016531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-195491871000058567.post-86807686368024921802012-03-05T13:14:20.078-05:002012-03-05T13:14:20.078-05:00What are your reasons for wanting to put facebook ...What are your reasons for wanting to put facebook in a time-out?

I have known for a long time that I use it as a distraction and an avoidance technique instead of doing what I really need to be doing. You go and and see what people are saying. It just takes up the time that you could be spending with the kids, doing house work, getting a craft done. All kinds of stuff is put aside so that you can go and see what "exciting things" are going on in your friends/family's lives.I think what you are doing it good!I want to spend more time with my hubby/kids and more time reading the good book!!:)Kristinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13157894840468399292noreply@blogger.com
